A Little About Us:
Oats Overnight is on a mission to build a generational CPG brand. Since 2016, our high-protein, drinkable oatmeal has reached over a million customers through direct-to-consumer, and we're now scaling with all major nationwide retail and club partners. Our goal: become a household brand by leveraging speed, storytelling, and strategy.
We are vertically integrated: we develop, manufacture, and fulfill everything in-house. This operational control allows us to engage customers directly into the R&D process, an initiative where we were first-to-market in CPG. It also makes our brand tangible and real: our factory, our team, and our product pipeline are all part of the narrative.
This is an exciting stage - we are emerging as a significant omni-channel brand and launching new products to capture significant market share across verticals. We want you to help us get there.
Every teammate here has equity because we're building something big, and everyone plays an important role. If you're excited about building a brand that does things differently, this is that opportunity.
What's The Job:
This is a systems-first senior design role. You'll own the design system end-to-end and build the foundation that lets the team scale — components, tokens, documentation, and everything in between. You'll be the senior design voice on a three-person team, working alongside a Senior Product Designer focused on product experience and a Product Designer handling visual and UX execution. You report directly to the Director of Digital Product.
AI fluency isn't a nice-to-have here — it's how you work. You bring deep design systems expertise, strong visual judgment, and the kind of craft standards that raise the bar for everyone around you.
This role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the U.S.
What You'll Be Doing, Stop Scanning and Read This Part:
-
Own the design system end-to-end — components, tokens, variants, spacing, naming, and documentation that hold up under real use
-
Use AI heavily as a default part of your workflow to increase speed and quality
-
Set and enforce the craft bar — Figma organization, component quality, and visual consistency are yours to own
-
Establish visual standards that create cohesion across every surface
-
Partner closely with the Senior Product Designer (Product Experience) to connect system decisions to real product flows
-
Actively pressure-test priorities and requirements before design work starts
-
Deliver work that is ready to ship, not just ready for feedback
-
Hand off to Engineering cleanly, completely, and ready to build
-
Show up in reviews and cross-functional discussions with clear, defensible opinions
-
Other duties as assigned
What You've Done and Who You Are:

10+ years in product design, ideally in ecommerce or DTC
-
Built, scaled, and maintained design systems that teams actually use — and drove adoption through clarity, usability, and restraint
-
Strong visual instincts and sharp attention to detail
-
Actively use AI in your workflow today; highly proficient in Figma-to-code or comparable tools
-
Someone that can partner and influence at all different levels
-
Have operated as a senior design voice before — you raise the bar without being asked and have improved team output beyond your own work
-
Ability to handle multiple priorities and navigate in a fast-moving environment
-
A relentless drive to get things done
-
Flexible, willing, and quick to learn new processes, new technology, and new ways of thinking
