About the position
Highly responsible specialized work, under the direction of a physician, in the recognition, assessment, and control of medical emergencies; transportation and care of patients to a medical facility, and related work as required.
Requirements
• Possession of a current provisional or permanent National Registry Certification as an Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic.
• Possession of a current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Possession of a current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• Possession of a current unrestricted EMS Certification or License from any state participating in the Recognition of EMS Personnel Licensure Interstate Compact (REPLICA), also known as the EMS Compact.
• Possession of a current Orleans Parish EMT permit issued by the New Orleans Health Department. Original certification must be submitted to EMS within the first 30 calendar days of employment.
