Position: Linux Platform Engineer
Location: Remote
Hiring Mode: 12 Months Contract
Job Description:
The Linux Platform Engineer will play a hands on engineering role supporting enterprise Linux Platform Engineering initiatives. This position focuses on designing, building, automating, maintaining, and hardening Linux platforms in large scale enterprise environments.
Responsibilities:
• Engineer and prepare Red Hat Enterprise Linux platforms including build standards, configuration, and operating system readiness
• Develop and maintain operating system builds and baselines
• Develop and maintain Ansible automation for operating system provisioning, configuration management, and compliance enforcement
• Apply, validate, and remediate security controls using Center for Internet Security benchmarks through tools such as BigFix and OpenSCAP
• Troubleshoot complex operating system level, performance, and integration issues
• Contribute to engineering documentation, build standards, and runbooks
• Collaborate with platform, security, and infrastructure teams to support enterprise Linux initiatives
• Use source control systems such as GitHub to manage and maintain automation and configuration code
Qualifications:
• Five or more years of Linux engineering experience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux versions 7, 8, and 9 in large enterprise environments
• Strong experience with Ansible including roles, playbooks, and automation workflows
• Strong source control experience using Git
• Hands on experience with Center for Internet Security WorkBench and Linux security hardening
• Strong understanding of Linux internals, storage, networking, and system performance
• Experience working in regulated or controls focused environments, with financial services experience
