Under direct supervision of the Recreation Specialist, lifeguards are responsible for maintaining safety in and around the Campbell Community Center swimming pool. Previous Lifeguarding experience is taken into consideration for payrate.
Schedule: Actual work schedule to be determined through mutual agreement with Recreation Specialist. Employees may be requested to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
Salary: All positions are part-time, temporary non-benefited positions. The pay rate will be dependent on qualifications and experience and is as follows:
Lifeguard I - $16.90 - $18.00 per hour
Lifeguard II - $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Lifeguard III - $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Typical duties may include, but are not limited to:
Conduct rescue operations
Administer Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), First Aid and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) in emergency situations
Attend in-service trainings
Teach swim lessons to all ages and abilities
Interact professionally and communicate effectively with swimmers of all ages and the general public
Write reports
Check in patrons
Organize pool equipment for all aquatic programs
Represent the City and the Department in a positive and effective manner
Maintain effective communication with supervisor and participants
Enforce all City of Campbell and Campbell Recreation and Community Services Department policies and procedures
Minimum age at time of hire is 15 years old. (Work permit will be required under 18 years of age)
American Red Cross Lifeguarding (Including Deep Water) with CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid preferred.
Proof of a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test or the certification form is required prior to employment date

SELECTION PROCESS
