We’re recruiting for an innovative biotechnology company seeking a US based Head of Business Development to lead global out-licensing strategy for biological and therapeutic assets. This is a fully remote position open to candidates anywhere in the United States. The organization’s corporate headquarters are in Maryland, and candidates operating on Eastern Time are strongly preferred to align with executive leadership and core business hours. About The Role This senior leader will own global licensing strategy, identify strategic biopharma partners, structure complex transactions, and drive revenue growth through high-value collaborations. Key Responsibilities • Lead global business development and out-licensing initiatives for biologics and therapeutic programs • Identify, evaluate, and qualify strategic pharmaceutical and biotech partners • Conduct in-depth market analysis, competitive intelligence, and asset positioning assessments • Structure and negotiate licensing agreements including valuations, milestone payments, royalty structures, and financial frameworks • Develop and present investment-grade business cases and partnership proposals • Drive term sheet development, due diligence processes, and cross-functional deal execution • Manage post-deal partner performance and ensure contractual compliance • Collaborate with R&D, regulatory, clinical, and executive teams to maximize asset value What You Bring • Significant experience in biopharmaceutical business development, licensing, and strategic partnerships • Proven track record executing global out-licensing deals within biotech or pharmaceutical environments • Strong financial acumen including asset valuation, modeling, and deal structuring • Deep understanding of therapeutic development, regulatory pathways, and commercialization strategy • Executive-level negotiation and relationship management experience • Ability to manage multiple complex transactions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment • High integrity, discretion, and professionalism This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a business development executive who thrives at the intersection of science, strategy, and deal-making.
