DEFINITION**: Responsible for performing administrative support to the Human Resources Department and providing employee support to staff. Assists the Director with record management, recruitment and retention, employee actions, benefits, discipline/grievance and appeals and other duties as needed.

Demonstrate reliable and punctual attendance
Perform specialized office support in relation to Human Resources
Coordinates a variety of departmental functions pertaining to recruiting, benefits, classification, compensation, training, personnel policy and data management
Research potential new hires employment history, references and assists with background process
On-boards new employees administering orientation and new hire paperwork
Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
Uses good judgment and provides information to public and staff, explaining and interpreting policy
Maintains and audits personnel files and purges documents according to records retention regulations
Create databases and spreadsheets to track employees' hire dates, actions, leave and performance evaluations, and due dates for background and driver license updates
Types correspondence, and forms for offer letters, interviews, discipline, benefits etc.
Helps Create And Process Job Descriptions
Updates Human Resources information in the Walker River Paiute Tribes' website
Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries, address concerns, and promote a positive workplace culture.
Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
Assists the HR Director in policy formulation, hiring and salary administration
Manage and coordinates schedules for the HR department, including meetings and events
Screens phone calls and visitors and processes mail
Attending job fairs, training, and meetings as needed
Other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT**: Work involves a minimum of physical efforts in an office setting.
Minimum Qualifications
Knowledge of Human Resource functions and employment laws
High School Diploma or High School Equivalency plus 1 year experience in Human Resources and at least 3 years administrative experience
Ability to handle sensitive information with great emphasis on confidentiality
Experience Working With The Public And Other Government Agencies
Must have a NV Driver's license and be insurable under the Tribe vehicle insurance policy
Must pass a background check
Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
