They are seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join their National Underwriting Team, responsible for issuing, endorsing, renewing, or canceling policies while ensuring compliance with underwriting policies and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Issue, endorse, renew, or cancels policies following underwriting policies/procedures, applicable laws, and regulations subject to personal authority level
- Retrieve information relevant to the underwriting function either by pulling files or checking policy history through appropriate channels
- Work within established authority limits, structured parameters, rating matrices, and defined guidelines within the Underwriting Authority given under the various Lloyd’s Contracts
- Answer straightforward inquiries from brokers promptly and courteously
- Other tasks related to supporting our underwriting functions
Skills
- Post Secondary Education
- Excellent data entry and typing skills with the ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
- Demonstrate strong attention to detail with the capability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Thrive working in a virtual Team using shared electronic mailboxes and files
- Highly organized to manage workload proficiently and can work in a face paced and changing environment
- Analytical and decision-making skills with attention to detail
- Positive team player while working independently
- High degree of professionalism and accountability
- Willing to obtain insurance license
- Excellent Knowledge of MS Office - Outlook, Word, Excel
- Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes
