We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for licensed physicians with direct experience in Rwanda or comparable low- and middle-income country (LMIC) primary-care settings. This role supports the development and validation of clinical AI systems aligned with the Rwanda Standard Treatment Guidelines (STG), with a focus on real-world primary-care workflows, public health constraints, and guideline-based clinical decision-making. Selected professionals will contribute clinical expertise grounded in frontline practice, helping ensure that AI systems reflect appropriate diagnosis, treatment logic, formulary awareness, referral thresholds, and care delivery realities in Rwanda or similar LMIC environments. Key Responsibilities Professionals in this role may contribute to: Clinical Guideline Alignment & Validation Support the development and validation of clinical AI systems aligned with the Rwanda Standard Treatment Guidelines Apply practical knowledge of WHO IMCI protocols and the Rwanda National Formulary in structured project work Help ensure that model outputs reflect appropriate primary-care decision-making in LMIC clinical environments Primary-Care Expertise & Case Review Contribute expertise drawn from direct work at health-center and/or district hospital level Support evaluation of clinical reasoning across high-burden primary-care conditions such as malaria, pneumonia, diarrheal disease, maternal health, and chronic disease Apply real-world knowledge of supply constraints, treatment limitations, and referral thresholds in Rwanda's public health system Documentation, Review & Domain Support Provide domain expertise for projects involving clinical documentation, guideline interpretation, or case review workflows Support structured review and validation of medically relevant content Apply practical frontline knowledge to improve the accuracy and contextual relevance of clinical AI systems Ideal Profile Strong candidates may have: Licensed physician status with MBBS, MD, or equivalent qualification 3+ years of practice experience in Rwanda or comparable LMIC primary-care settings Direct experience working at the health-center and/or district hospital level Strong working knowledge of the Rwanda Standard Treatment Guidelines Strong Working Knowledge Of WHO IMCI Protocols Familiarity with the Rwanda National Formulary Experience managing high-burden primary-care conditions including malaria, pneumonia, diarrheal disease, maternal health, and chronic disease Familiarity with real-world supply constraints and referral thresholds in Rwanda's public health system Preferred Qualifications Prior experience reviewing clinical documentation, guidelines, or case audits Strong familiarity with structured primary-care decision-making in public health settings Ability to apply clinical reasoning within resource-constrained care environments Why This Opportunity Contribute specialised clinical expertise to a high-impact AI healthcare initiative Help improve how clinical AI systems reflect real-world primary-care practice in Rwanda and comparable LMIC settings Support guideline-based model development with frontline physician insight Flexible remote work with potential transition into hourly compensation based on performance Contract Details Independent contractor role Fully remote with flexible scheduling Project will initially begin as a task-based engagement Compensation may later transition to an hourly model of $15–$25 per hour based on performance and project needs Please note: although the listing may display $15–$25/hour, the project will start as task-based work Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on project needs and performance Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution Please note: We are unable to support H1-B or STEM OPT candidates at this time Start date: Immediate About The Platform This opportunity is available through a leading AI-driven work platform that connects domain experts with frontier AI research projects.
