Provides professional nursing services; identifies, observes and reports symptoms of patients; explains agency services and policies to clients and other members of the public; and performs related work.• Provides skilled nursing care and prescribed medical treatment to patients and demonstrates care to patients, families, practical nurses, and aides.
• Identifies, observes, reports and records symptoms and conditions of patients.
• Assists as a team member in the development of nursing care plans.
• Gives medically ordered immunizations, tuberculin tests, treatment and medication.
• Assists with medical examination, takes histories, and performs screening and recording activities at clinic and schools.
• May give directions and assignments to licensed practical nurses and/or home health aides.
• Helps explain agency services and policies to persons receiving service and to other persons with whom she works.
• Gives general information to the public about the local public health agency and its services.
• Attends staff meetings and participates in continuing educational programs.Current licensure as a registered nurse in Minnesota.
