Location: 100% REMOTE Contract: 12 months + (possibility of extension or FTE conversion) Position: Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - Azure Government Cloud Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft Azure Government Cloud (Azure Gov) to design, deploy, and support secure, scalable, and compliant cloud environments. This role focuses on building and enhancing Azure Landing Zones, enabling large-scale application migrations, and developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional security, DevOps, and application teams to deliver resilient, mission-critical cloud architectures aligned with government compliance standards. Top Required Skills: Azure Cloud, Terraform Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain Azure Gov Cloud Landing Zones, including management groups, policies, RBAC, networking, and monitoring. Lead and execute application migration efforts from assessment through deployment across Azure Gov environments. Develop, test, and deploy Terraform modules, pipelines, and IaC workflows for provisioning and lifecycle management of cloud resources. Implement secure, scalable cloud architectures including network segmentation, identity and access controls, policy enforcement, and monitoring strategies. Collaborate with security, DevOps, and engineering teams to establish and enforce operational standards and guardrails. Troubleshoot and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, availability, cost, and compliance. Provide subject matter expertise on Azure Gov Cloud capabilities, constraints, and best practices. Maintain high-quality documentation for architecture, configuration standards, processes, and operational procedures. Required Qualifications: 3-7+ years of experience engineering cloud solutions in Azure, with 2+ years in Azure Government Cloud. Proven experience architecting and deploying Azure Landing Zones. Strong hands-on expertise with Terraform (module development, state management, CI/CD integration, Git). Deep understanding of IaC, cloud automation, and DevOps methodologies. Experience migrating on-prem or multi-cloud applications to Azure (IaaS, PaaS, containers preferred). Solid knowledge of Azure networking (VNETs, NSGs/ASGs, firewalls, VPN/ExpressRoute), identity (Azure AD), and cloud security controls. Familiarity with government compliance frameworks such as FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, and DoD Impact Levels (IL2-IL6). Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: Azure certifications (AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-700, AZ-500). Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. Scripting experience (PowerShell, Python).
