Job Description:
• Quality assurance of PGT laboratory and genetic counseling protocols (70%)
• Utilizes practical knowledge in clinical, molecular, and population genetics to verify accuracy of data on laboratory reports
• Together with the laboratory scientists, assists with report writing for complicated or non-standard results
• Contributes to departmental and product improvement initiatives under direction of management
• Focused clinical and technical support for CooperSurgical staff, clients and external genetic counselors, across all laboratories
• Management of domestic and international PGT-M and PGT-SR cases, from enrolment through test completion, including conducting genetic counseling consultations
• Participates in genetic counseling meetings, training events and other group initiatives, as directed by manager.
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Human Genetics or equivalent field from American Board of Genetic Counseling accredited institution, or its international equivalent
• American Board of Genetic Counseling board certified
• Holds or is able to obtain genetic counseling license in appropriate states
• Three years of relevant genetic counseling work experience, including at least one year in a laboratory setting
• Demonstrated ability to accurately and efficiently manage complicated scenarios
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time using computer equipment in normal office conditions; occasional need for domestic and/or international travel (<10%)
• Passing of background check which may include verification of prior employment, criminal conviction history, educational and driving records.
