Job Title: Data Consultant - Data Governance
Location: Remote with travel to Columbus, OH
Duration: 6+ Months Contract
Job Description:
Required skills:
- Focus on data catalog maturity (identifying columns, tables, business terms and defining characteristics)
- Identifying and documenting Table Sets and Values within Collibra
- Business Process mapping to insure proper coverage of Business Terms
- Business Process Mapping to identify upstream Data Bases that need cataloged
Skills:
- Utility experience, preferred
- Above entry level understanding of Database Structures, Data Models, Data Stewardship
- SQL query capability
- Utilization of Data Governance tools like CloudPak and Collibra (preferably Collibra)
- Strong Business Analyst Skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across cross functional teams
- Independent problem-solver who can deliver results with limited oversight
A Data Consultant specializing in Data Governance is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining data governance and data management processes for clients. They conduct stakeholder analysis, develop communication plans, and execute communications. The Data Consultant creates metadata management repositories, captures business/data quality rules, and designs data quality reports & dashboards. They also work with technical resources to implement rules in data quality and automate monitoring and reporting. Additionally, they may operate issue tracking processes and facilitate resolution with clients. The role requires a foundational understanding of data governance technologies for data quality and metadata management.
