Ardent Forge-DEFENSEWERX (AF-DWX) is a neutral facilitator and trusted partner, connecting an international network of individuals, businesses, educators and government organizations to enable creative and integrated solutions for our partners. This is a remote position. DEFENSEWERX currently operates in and hires from the following states: Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, Mississippi, Montana, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia. This is a part-time position with 20-25 hours weekly, scheduled during business hours Monday-Friday. JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Project Manager serves as an integral member of the AF-DWX team, providing independent oversight and coordination of assigned tasks that directly support AF-DWX mission and strategic objectives. This role exercises discretion and independent judgment in planning, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement, with final execution decisions approved by the Director and/or Senior Program Manager. The Assistant Project Manager ensures tasks are executed efficiently, resources are managed effectively, and partners receive high-quality support and deliverables. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Independently plan and coordinate assigned tasks, determining priorities, resource needs, and timelines. - Own assigned tasks to completion and provides actionable recommendations that enhance task execution and efficiency. - Monitor project performance and recommend process improvements or corrective actions as needed. - Manage project documentation, reporting, and communications to ensure accurate, timely information flow to stakeholders. - Assist team with use of project management tools, CRM platforms, and communication systems. - Review Agreements, milestone schedule, and payments, then recommend edits for Director and/or Senior Program Manager for approval. - Assists with comprehensive status updates, reports, and recommendations for leadership decision-making. - Conduct market and technical research to identify opportunities, partners, and solutions that align with the government partner’s mission. - Support the development and facilitation of tech challenges, workshops, and collaborative events. - Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, tailoring messaging to diverse audiences through written reports, presentations, and verbal updates.
