Anti-Poaching Unit Manager – Namibia
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Anti-Poaching Unit Manager for a prestigious luxury game reserve based in Namibia. This is a live-in, senior operational role, offering a salary of N$50,000 (negotiable depending on experience).
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ senior experience in Counter Poaching Unit Management or equivalent military/security industry role in a high-risk conservation area
- Tertiary qualification in wildlife conservation, natural resource management, security operations or a related field
- Sound knowledge of law enforcement/security legislation; experience with arrest and apprehension procedures, particularly in wildlife crime, is advantageous
- Proven leadership experience with multi-disciplinary field teams in remote, high-pressure settings
- Firearm certification and demonstrated firearm handling competence
- Experience working with K9 units, aerial surveillance (drones), and intelligence operations
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and other relevant software
- Proficiency in data recording, GPS data collection, mapping, and analysis; GIS skills are an advantage
- Physically fit and capable of working in rugged, high-risk environments
- Fluent in English; additional languages beneficial
- Willingness to work long, flexible hours in remote areas with minimal supervision
- First Aid proficiency, including trauma care in remote/high-risk settings
- Additional experience in wildlife management or related conservation fields will be a plus
- Valid driver’s licence with a PDP
- Police clearance certificates and full background check required prior to employment
This is a senior leadership position embedded in the field within a significant conservation area. Only candidates with the relevant operational and leadership experience will be considered.
