QualCode, Inc. is seeking an experienced Oncology Clinic Coder to support one of the nation’s leading cancer treatment and research centers. This position requires demonstrated expertise in both professional (pro-fee) and hospital-based (facility) coding for oncology-related outpatient services. Ideal candidates bring strong knowledge of E/M coding, modifiers, and complex specialty encounters within teaching facility and academic medical center environments. You’ll ensure that every coded detail — from physician documentation to procedural billing — reflects the quality, compliance, and compassion behind every episode of cancer care. Key Responsibilities · Accurately assign CPT®, ICD-10-CM, E/M levels, and modifiers for oncology-related professional and hospital-based encounters. · Review and interpret documentation for a variety of specialties, including: o Oncology o Dermatology o Gynecology o Urology o Bone Marrow Biopsies o Thoracic Medicine · Code encounters within teaching facility settings, including resident and split-shared visits. · Apply appropriate professional (26) and technical (TC) modifiers to ensure accurate billing and clean claims. · Collaborate with providers to resolve documentation discrepancies and maintain coding integrity. · Ensure full compliance with AHIMA, AAPC, CMS, and federal guidelines. · Meet productivity and accuracy benchmarks consistent with QualCode’s performance standards. Required Qualifications · Certification: Active credential from AHIMA (CCS, RHIT, RHIA) or AAPC (CPC, COC, CIC). · Experience: Minimum 2+ years of recent coding experience in oncology, multi-specialty clinic, or academic medical center settings. · Advanced knowledge of E/M coding, CPT®, ICD-10-CM, modifiers, and pro-fee/hospital-based billing distinctions. · Familiarity with Cerner, Athena, and 3M standalone systems. · Ability to work independently in a secure, remote environment while maintaining PHI confidentiality.
