Position Summary
FlightWave, a wholly owned subsidiary of Red Cat Holdings, is seeking a Test Engineer II to support the design, development, and implementation of board-level and system-level test solutions for advanced drone products. This role will be responsible for developing test fixtures, validating electronic assemblies, and improving manufacturing test processes to ensure product quality, reliability, and throughput.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong troubleshooting skills, experience in electronics testing, and the ability to work cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and quality teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design and develop board-level (PCB) and system-level test fixtures for production and engineering validation
- Create and maintain test procedures, work instructions, and documentation
- Develop automated and semi-automated test solutions (hardware and software)
- Troubleshoot electrical, firmware, and system-level issues during development and production
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by defining test strategies and ensuring testability (DFT)
- Analyze test data to identify failure trends, root causes, and corrective actions
- Collaborate with engineering teams to improve design for manufacturability (DFM) and testability (DFT)
- Work with manufacturing to ensure efficient test flow, cycle time reduction, and high first-pass yield
- Support calibration, validation, and maintenance of test equipment and fixtures
- Assist in resolving field returns and RMA failures
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field
- 3–7 years of experience in electronics test engineering or manufacturing test Experience designing and debugging test fixtures (bed-of-nails, functional test setups, etc.)
- Strong understanding of analog and digital circuits, PCB design fundamentals, sensors, motors, and embedded systems.
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and signal generators, and data acquisition systems
- Experience with test automation (Python, LabVIEW, or similar)
- Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Standing for long periods of time
- Ability to work in different environments and heat

Compensation: $110k – $137k, plus generous annual equity package and potential bonuses.
