The role involves creating CAD 3D design models and supporting senior designers in producing structural drawings while collaborating with other designers to optimize overall design.
Responsibilities
- Supporting senior designers by producing structural drawings that are completed on-time and within budget, while maintaining quality, consistency, and accountability that meets or exceeds customer requirements
- Collaborating with mechanical and electrical designers to resolve clashes within the 3D model, optimizing the overall design
- Travel to client facilities with experienced project team members may be necessary to verify on-site physical design conditions
- Adapting to a wide range of technologies in power generation, mining, oil & gas, and renewables
Skills
- Associate Degree in Computer Aided Design Technology preferred
- CAD certificate required if non-degreed
- Previous relevant experience considered
- Proficiency in at least one major CAD software (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation)
- Awareness of American Concrete Institute (ACI) for foundation design
- Awareness of American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC) manual for steel design
- Awareness of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)
