Job Summary
The Sr. Director of Sales – Costco/BJ’s is a critical leadership role accountable for achieving account-specific goals including volume, forecast accuracy, promotions, distribution, new item launches, SRM management, and in-store execution. You will lead sales strategy, manage broker relationships, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive profitable growth and long-term customer success.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute account plans and brand strategies to achieve volume and revenue objectives
Drive optimal AMPPS execution (Assortment, Merchandising, Price, Promotion, Shelving)
Present and execute Annual Business Plans (ABP) within budget
Manage trade funds, pricing, promotions, and distribution strategies
Negotiate effectively in both direct and indirect sales environments
Partner with Category Management, Trade Marketing, and Sales Operations to deliver business updates
Collaborate with Customer Service and Demand Planning to ensure supply chain efficiency
Provide strategic leadership to broker teams, ensuring execution excellence
Manage broker performance through scorecards, meetings, and clear follow-ups
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience
7+ years of CPG experience in Sales, Account Management, Marketing, or Category Management
Deep understanding of the CPG industry and competitive landscape
Strong leadership presence with a confident, results-driven mindset
Excellent communication, presentation, and storytelling skills
Experience using Trade Management systems and managing customer P&Ls
Preferred Qualifications
Proven success in trade promotion management and SRM
Strong negotiation and influencing skills (internal & external)
Financial acumen including margins, retail math, forecasts, and velocity analysis
Ability to create practical assortment strategies based on retail space and sell-through
Strategic thinker who takes a holistic vs. transactional approach to customer management
