Senior Tax Analyst, Tax Technology Support

This role leads complex client projects, ensures compliance with multi-state tax regulations, and drives process improvements. Acting as a key liaison between clients and internal teams, the Senior Tax Analyst mentors junior analysts, resolves complex issues, and contributes to strategic initiatives.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities - Configure, test, and maintain tax engines (Vertex, Avalara, Thomson Reuters) and ERP systems for client projects.  - Automate tax processes and reporting workflows using data transformation tools and scripting solutions.   - Validate and process client data for accuracy and compliance with tax regulations.  - Work closely with customers to understand their needs, promote customer satisfaction, retention, and success.  - Ensure clients are provided high-quality and timely communications on all service components and deliverables.  - Review and analyze business process inputs, document variables and constraints, define prospective outcomes, and recommend solutions. - Process and troubleshoot customer workflows using data transformation tools.  - Respond to client inquiries and provide support for tax engine functionality and process issues.   - Collaborate with team members to identify and implement process improvements.   - Create, update, and enhance high-detail Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).  - Provide break/fix resolution and ongoing tax solution maintenance to optimize efficiency and accuracy.  - Mentor and guide junior analysts; provide training and feedback to enhance team performance.  - Perform other duties as assigned.  - ​Education and Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Information Systems, or related field required.   - 2-3 year of professional experience; internship or related exposure.   - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); strong Excel and data modeling skills required.   - In-depth knowledge of indirect tax lifecycle and exemption certificate processes.   - Hands-on experience with tax engines (Vertex, Avalara, OneSource) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).   - Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.   - Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage client relationships effectively.  - Ability to lead projects and mentor team members in a fast-paced environment.    Work Environment & Physical Requirements  - Work Schedule: Regular, 40 hours/week  - Travel: Less than 10%  - Physical Activity:   - Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use  - Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and sounds  - Frequent repetitive motions with hands  #LI-REMOTE   #LI-AL1 The Company is an equal employment opportunity employer and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to its applicants and employees.
