Next Meters is seeking a strategic, results-driven Sales Senior Director to lead and scale sales performance across either the Western or Eastern United States. This is a senior leadership role responsible for owning regional revenue, setting the strategic direction for the region, and leading a team of Sales Directors who each manage their own assigned territories. The Sales Senior Director will serve as the most senior sales voice for the region, operating at both a strategic and executional level—coaching and developing Sales Directors, driving regional forecasting and planning, influencing company-wide sales strategy, and representing Next Meters with credibility at the highest levels of client engagement. Position Overview  Next Meters is seeking a strategic, results-driven Sales Senior Director to lead and scale sales performance across either the Western or Eastern United States. This is a senior leadership role responsible for owning regional revenue, setting the strategic direction for the region, and leading a team of Sales Directors who each manage their own assigned territories. The Sales Senior Director will serve as the most senior sales voice for the region, operating at both a strategic and executional level—coaching and developing Sales Directors, driving regional forecasting and planning, influencing company-wide sales strategy, and representing Next Meters with credibility at the highest levels of client engagement. Key Responsibilities Regional Revenue Ownership & Strategy - Own all revenue outcomes for the assigned region (Western or Eastern US), setting and driving the regional sales strategy in alignment with company objectives. - Translate company sales goals into clear regional targets, territory allocations, and execution plans for each Sales Director. - Hold ultimate accountability for regional pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and revenue attainment. - Identify and pursue high-value strategic opportunities within the region that require senior-level engagement or executive sponsorship. - Ensure that all commercial commitments made within the region are accurate, documented, and properly handed off to account management and operations. Team Leadership & People Development - Directly lead and manage a team of Sales Directors across the region, creating a high-performance culture aligned with Next Meters’ core values. - Recruit, interview, and onboard new Sales Directors, ensuring candidates align with Next Meters’ values and sales culture. - Develop and mentor Sales Directors through regular one-on-ones, deal coaching, constructive feedback, and individualized growth plans. - Set clear, measurable performance goals and KPIs for each Sales Director, conducting formal reviews and holding the team accountable to high standards. - Foster a culture of continuous learning by identifying training opportunities, sharing competitive and product knowledge, and keeping the team sharp and motivated. - Monitor regional workload and territory coverage, making staffing and prioritization decisions to ensure the region is appropriately resourced. - Recognize and celebrate team achievements, cultivating a motivating environment of accountability and shared purpose. - Partner with HR and senior leadership to manage performance improvement plans, succession planning, and retention of top sales talent. Customer Relationship Management - Engage directly in executive-level client relationships and strategic deals within the region that require senior leadership presence. - Support Sales Directors in navigating complex negotiations, high-stakes proposals, and key account retention efforts. - Ensure a consistent, seamless transition from regional sales activity to onboarding and account management across all territory accounts. - Champion a customer-first culture across the regional sales team, reinforcing Next Meters’ commitment to trust, transparency, and long-term partnership. Regional Planning, Forecasting & Market Analysis - Own regional sales planning, forecasting, and budgeting, providing accurate and timely reporting to senior leadership. - Consolidate and review territory-level pipeline data from Sales Directors to produce a reliable regional forecast. - Monitor market trends, competitive dynamics, and customer behavior across the region to identify strategic opportunities and emerging risks. - Drive territory design and coverage decisions in partnership with senior leadership to maximize regional market penetration. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Continuous Improvement - Partner at a senior level with Marketing, Finance, Operations, Account Management, and Product to align messaging, service standards, and go-to-market strategy across the region. Refer to the Sales, AM, CS Expectations and Work Flow document for clarification and alignment. - Serve as the primary regional voice of the sales organization in cross-functional leadership discussions. - Provide executive leadership with structured feedback on regional customer needs, competitive positioning, and opportunities for product or service enhancements. - Lead adoption of sales best practices, tools, and processes across the regional team, ensuring compliance with company policies and ethical standards. Required Qualifications & Experience Experience and Education - 8–10+ years of sales experience, including 3+ years in a sales leadership role managing other sales professionals, preferably in a B2B, hardware, or SaaS environment. - Demonstrated experience managing a regional or multi-territory sales organization with accountability for revenue targets at scale. - Proven track record of hiring, developing, and retaining high-performing sales talent. - Experience with regional sales planning, pipeline management, forecasting accuracy, and managing customer retention and renewal rates. - B.S. in Business Administration, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
