Requirements • Hold and maintain an active mental health license in the state of New Mexico that permits clinical practice, such as LMSW/LCSW, LMHC/LPCC, LAMFT/LMFT, MD, DO, or PsyD. • Hold and maintain a professional liability insurance policy with a per-claim limit of $1,000,000 and an aggregate limit of $3,000,000. • Have a Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare (CAQH) profile and review and attest to your profile’s information every 90 days. • Be enrolled as a New Mexico Medicaid provider and have a Medicaid provider ID number. • Have no open licensing board complaints and no open malpractice claims. • Be comfortable with technology and delivering telehealth counseling services. • Own a dedicated (not shared with others) tablet or computer with a camera with which you can deliver telehealth counseling services. • Have an internet download and upload speed of at least 100 Mbps. Responsibilities • Practice in line with your discipline’s particular code of ethics (NASW Code of Ethics, ACA Code of Ethics). • At the time of service delivery, be physically located in a state in which the clinician possesses a license enabling them to practice clinically. • Provide regular psychotherapy services to individuals, couples, and children. • Utilize evidence-based and trauma-informed interventions in the treatment of patients (e.g., ACT, CBT, TF-CBT, DBT, MI, SFBT, EMDR). • Perform psychiatric diagnostic evaluations (intakes) on patients. • Appropriately diagnose patients according to the standards of the DSM 5. • Create psychotherapy treatment plans with patients. • Communicate with patients about scheduling utilizing a dedicated business phone or smartphone application (e.g., Google Voice). • Ascertain the patient’s location at the start of each session in case of a crisis. • In cases of patient suicidal ideation, assess the severity of the ideation and triage according to the level of risk. • Complete electronic notes for services provided within 48 hours of service delivery. • Safeguard patient privacy by keeping all protected health information solely on the TherapyNotes platform. • When appropriate, refer patients to outside resources suitable to the patient’s needs. • If non-independently licensed, attend supervision meetings as required by your specific licensing board.
