Role Overview
Flex is building a two-sided, tech-first logistics marketplace connecting customers with trusted local independent drivers and movers. The Activation Manager owns the end-to-end onboarding, trust, and activation funnel-turning qualified applicants into verified, fraud-free, job-ready marketplace partners as quickly and efficiently as possible. This role blends operations, Trust & Safety, identity verification, automation, and product collaboration to scale supply safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Activation Funnel Ownership
• Manage lifecycle from application → screening → verification → approval → first job
• Reduce time-to-activate, increase activation rate, and improve partner readiness
• Identify and eliminate mid- and bottom-funnel friction in real time
Trust, Safety, Fraud & Identity
• Own ID verification, fraud prevention, and risk screening processes
• Monitor suspicious activity, duplicate identities, and policy violations
• Partner with vendors supporting background checks, IDV, and compliance
• Establish clear escalation and enforcement protocols
Automation & Systems
• Design and maintain automated onboarding workflows using tools like Zapier, CRM/ATS, and internal systems
• Build SQL-driven reporting and dashboards to monitor funnel health
• Reduce manual work through process automation and lifecycle triggers
Product Collaboration & Activation Design
• Partner with Product and Engineering to design seamless in-app activation flows
• Define requirements for screening integrations, progress tracking, reminders, and approvals
• Translate operational friction into product improvements and automation
Operational Execution & Quality
• Lead activation queues, SLAs, and agent productivity
• Implement standard operating procedures, QA, and compliance controls
• Ensure partners meet safety, training, and equipment standards
Data & Performance Management
• Track and improve KPIs:
• Time to activate
• Activation rate
• Fraud / identity pass rate
• First-job conversion
• Early-life reliability
• Deliver weekly insights and root-cause analysis to leadership
Qualifications
Required
• 4+ years in operations, onboarding, Trust & Safety, fraud, or marketplace lifecycle roles
• Experience with identity verification, compliance screening, or fraud prevention
• Strong analytical skills with SQL, dashboards, and KPI ownership
• Hands-on experience with automation tools (Zapier or similar)
• Proven ability to design scalable processes and partner with Product
• Excellent communication and execution in fast-paced environments
Preferred
• Experience in gig economy, logistics, mobility, or two-sided marketplaces
• Familiarity with background check / IDV vendors and compliance frameworks
• Experience launching or improving in-app onboarding or activation flows
