Informatics Pharmacist

Overview
The Informatics Pharmacist serves as a key member of both product development and customer implementation teams supporting advanced healthcare technology solutions. This role acts as the subject matter expert on U.S. hospital pharmacy operations, medication-use processes, and pharmacy automation systems.
The ideal candidate will contribute to the design, development, documentation, and implementation of healthcare automation technologies while actively engaging with the pharmacy community as a thought leader in pharmacy informatics and workflow optimization. The role also supports the development and maintenance of a centralized drug knowledge base and oversees informatics-related efforts during healthcare system implementations.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as a clinical and operational subject matter expert supporting healthcare technology and pharmacy workflow initiatives
• Provide input into the development, implementation, and optimization of technology solutions used in hospital and health system environments
• Support customer implementations and collaborate with healthcare teams during system deployments and workflow integrations
• Work cross-functionally with internal teams including product development, engineering, quality, and customer support to ensure successful delivery of solutions
• Provide guidance related to pharmacy operations, medication-use processes, and patient safety considerations
• Assist with development and review of documentation, system requirements, and training materials
• Collaborate with healthcare IT teams and external partners to support system integration and interoperability
• Participate in validation, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives related to healthcare technology solutions
• Ensure alignment with relevant regulatory standards and industry best practices
• Support education, training, and adoption efforts with healthcare customers and internal teams
Qualifications
Required
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
• Active pharmacist license in the United States or eligibility for licensure
• Experience in hospital pharmacy practice
• Experience with electronic medical record systems and pharmacy information systems
• Familiarity with publicly available drug databases and classification systems
• Experience with IV workflow systems, pharmacy automation technologies, or compounding systems
• Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards such as HL7 and related integration technologies
• Experience working with healthcare technology vendors or automation systems
Preferred
• Residency or formal training in Pharmacy Informatics or Health Informatics
• Hands-on experience with robotic compounding systems or advanced pharmacy automation technologies
• Project management training or certification (PMP, Agile, Lean, Six Sigma)
• Board Certified Sterile Compounding Pharmacist (BCSCP) certification
• Experience with programming or scripting in at least one programming language
