Lehman College, part of The City University of New York, is seeking an HR Coordinator to assist with day-to-day HR operations. The role involves onboarding part-time employees, maintaining HR records, and providing support to hiring managers while ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Processes the onboarding of part-time employees, new-hire orientations, and audits for accuracy and I-9 compliance, and ensures all records are up-to-date
- Provides information to hiring managers regarding processes and procedures
- Maintains an understanding of policies, procedures, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements relevant to HR
- Administrative and paperwork oversight for both electronic and paper files
- Assist with the daily data input of position management related to hires, reappointments, revisions, and separations for hourly teaching and non-teaching instructional staff
- Processes employment verifications and public service loan forgiveness
- Maintains the budget in the Human Resources department and keeps up to date on current issues and matters related to HR
- Troubleshoot any CUNYfirst issues and make corrections as necessary
- Perform customer service functions by answering employee requests and questions
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's degree required
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Excellent judgment, strong communication, and people skills
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion with regard to all matters, data, and documents
- Detailed oriented, self-directed, motivated and proactive
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking aptitude
- Familiar with CUNY's collective bargaining agreements for white-collar titles and psc staff is preferred
