Role Description To support our growth, we are seeking a Research Associate for our Utility Programs and Services (UPS) division to advance ICF’s Customer Insights and Behavioral Science offerings. You will support a range of social and behavioral science projects for energy utility clients, applying both research expertise and project management skills. In this role, you will work closely with the team’s customer insights and behavioral science experts as well as other researchers to conduct best-in-class qualitative and quantitative customer research. You will also work with marketing, IT, analytics, and program implementation teams to apply data-driven insights and behavioral science to enhance customer engagement and experience. What you will be doing: • Conduct background research and benchmarking related to project needs • Manage research participant recruitment • Support design of interview guides and surveys • Conduct interviews and field online surveys • Produce data summaries and basic reporting • Manage project timelines and monitor budgets • Collaborate with team colleagues and other cross-functional teams • Support efficiency of team operations and project management Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in social or behavioral sciences or related field • 3+ years of professional work experience developing, designing, and conducting successful customer insights research (qualitative and quantitative) or similar projects • 3+ years of experience managing projects, budgets, timelines, and administration for customer insights research or similar projects • Experience in survey research software (Alchemer, Qualtrics) and data analysis software (SPSS, R) • Proficient with MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel) • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening Requirements • Master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences • Experience working with energy utilities or in another environmental domain • Advanced skills in the following areas: organization, flexibility, financial and time management, stakeholder collaboration and outreach, project planning and execution, problem-solving • In-depth knowledge of behavioral science approaches to energy efficiency, clean energy, and demand response • Data visualization experience • Strong presentation skills Benefits • Flexible workplace arrangements, work-life balance • Donation matching, volunteer opportunities • Tuition reimbursement, access to professional development resources, 401k matching, Employee Stock Purchase Plan • And many, many more (Ask your recruiter for more details!)
