Summary:
The Health & Safety Coordinator provides health and safety support to all GINWT staff. Assists in the development of organizational health and safety programs and objectives and coordinates safety training programs. Monitors health and safety regulations and provides support to operations and administrative personnel to ensure compliance with federal and state safety and health regulations.
The Compliance Coordinator works to assist Director of Workforce Development and all GINWT staff with the coordination of compliance, resources, setting up equipment, meetings, and information. They organize projects with the goal of getting them completed on time and within budget.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Health & Safety Coordinator):
Works closely with staff in administration, human resources, retail, document destruction and operations to resolve safety issues and techniques.
Provides technical health and safety support and information to retail, operations and administrative personnel.
Assists in preparation of written health and safety programs and policies.
Identifies and assists in company safety training needs and develops and coordinates safety training programs.
Conducts new employee orientation related to health and safety related training for employees.
Maintains records of training, qualifications, certifications, etc., as they apply to the safety program.
Participates in the investigation of accidents and injuries.
Monitors lost-time injuries/illnesses and worker’s compensation claims.
Reviews injury/illness and noninjury incident investigation reports and follows up as necessary.
Assists in development of annual company health and safety goals.
Makes recommendations in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.
Maintains organization compliance, health and safety library (e.g., videos, regulations, reference manuals).
Promotes health and safety awareness through internal company memoranda, newsletters and specific training programs.
Leads the Health and Safety committee.
Reviews health and safety committee meeting minutes and safety inspection reports and follows up as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Compliance Coordinator):
Prepares compliance audit data by compiling, analyzing internal and external information and placing in electronic folders.
Maintains and monitors project plans, project schedules, work hours, budgets and expenditures.
Organizes, attends, and participates in stakeholder meetings.
Documents and follows up on important actions and decisions from meetings.
Prepares necessary presentation materials for meetings.
Ensures project and compliance deadlines are met.
Ensures that projects adhere to compliance frameworks and that all compliance data documentations are organized and maintained appropriately for each project.
Facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team members.
Create project management calendars for tracking goals and objectives
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor to other departments related to health and safety.

Education and/or Experience:
Minimum requirements are 2 years of college preferred, or a combination of education and experience totaling 2 years.
Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Knowledge file management and other administrative procedures
Ability to work on tight deadlines.
