**Job Summary**
As a Data Engineer in our OAP department, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data engineering solutions that support business intelligence, reporting, and analytics. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to extract insights from data, identify trends, and develop data-driven solutions to drive business growth and improvement. This role requires a strong understanding of data engineering principles, data modeling, and data visualization, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.
**Responsibilities**
* Locate and extract data from various sources to support business intelligence, reporting, and analytics
* Clean and curate datasets by identifying new data sources, aggregating perspectives, and creating meaningful hierarchies
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop data-driven solutions that meet business needs
* Leverage emerging technologies and innovative approaches to communicate insights and drive business decisions
* Support business strategy development and project management engagements across various business units
* Train and mentor team members on various skills and topics
* Practice security-aware behaviors in all operational procedures

* Be intellectually curious, ask questions, and communicate ideas effectively
**Requirements**
* 3+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics, or a related field
* Proficiency in SQL and ETL/ELT patterns
* Proficiency with Python, SAS, or other comparable tools and programming languages
* Ability to troubleshoot reporting database environments
* Strong attention to detail and ability to work autonomously with multiple requests and timelines
* Self-starter with a resilient, solution-minded approach to complex problems
* Consistently prioritizes security and protection of self, others, and personal data
* Embraces diverse perspectives, thinking, and styles
* Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent
* Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree or certificate in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Science, or a related quantitative field
* Previous airline experience
* Working knowledge of and/or experience with cloud-based solutions (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP)
