Job Summary
EPIC Teachers provide high school level instruction to students who are age 18 and over. Utilizes remote instruction from learning centers throughout the state of California, principally in the following counties: Nevada County, Riverside County, Monterey County, Kern County, Los Angeles County (Antelope Valley), Merced County, Ventura County, and Butte County. The EPIC Teacher must possess preparation in teaching a culturally diverse population, use language acquisition strategies, and the ability to utilize synchronous and asynchronous instruction. The EPIC Teacher must have the knowledge and ability to teach core content area classes either in an online environment, or in a self-contained classroom using direct instruction. They must also have the ability to individualize instruction according to the needs of adult learners.
Requirements / Qualifications
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
Must have tuberculosis (TB) clearance or obtain TB clearance before beginning work.
Must be able to pass fingerprinting (Live Scan) and criminal record clearance by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree required.
Multiple subject credential, or able to acquire the credential or an applicable permit required.
CLAD or BCLAD Certified, or other California Commission on Teacher Credentialing recognized authorization to teach English Learners.
Must have a current Food Handler’s Certificate, or be able to complete the training within thirty (30) days of hire date.
Must have a current Child Care Providers Mandated Reporter certificate, or be able to complete the training within ninety (90) days of hire date.
Bilingual in Spanish is preferred, but not required.
Salary Info
$72,711.48 - $74,173.13 annually
