About the Role
Britannica is looking for an Editor to help launch and run a new daily newsletter debuting later this year. This role owns the full editorial operation of the brand — from calendar planning through publication.
The Editor will work closely with a broader team of newsletter editors while taking day-to-day responsibility for the execution, quality, and growth of their title. The ideal candidate brings strong editorial judgment, sharp writing and editing skills, and experience managing freelance contributors to maintain a consistent, high-quality publishing cadence.

Key Responsibilities
• Own the editorial vision and execution of a daily newsletter, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and a consistent brand voice
• Develop and manage monthly editorial calendars, balancing evergreen, timely, and curiosity-driven content
• Edit and oversee daily newsletter editions and web articles from pitch through publication
• Manage freelance writers, providing clear briefs, constructive feedback, and editorial direction
• Uphold rigorous editorial standards across fact-checking, research integrity, and style
• Partner with growth, product, and sales teams to support newsletter performance and strategic goals
• Use project management tools to track deadlines, workflows, and contributor progress
• Contribute to editorial meetings with timely, relevant ideas and ongoing content strategy
• 5+ years of professional writing and editing experience, preferably in science, technology, or explanatory journalism
• Experience producing email newsletters or digital editorial products
• Demonstrated ability to manage contributors and oversee content pipelines
• Strong editorial judgment and meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously
• Experience working with project management tools and digital publishing systems
