Director of Agentic AI, Virtual Agents & Journey Management

We have an outstanding Contract position for a Director of Agentic AI, Virtual Agents & Journey Management to join a leading Company. This is a remote position. Pay Rate: $75 - $83/hr We are seeking a strategic, technically fluent, and highly articulate leader to drive the design, deployment, and optimization of Agentic AI systems, Virtual Agents, and Journey Management platforms. This role will shape how autonomous AI agents collaborate with humans, orchestrate complex workflows, and deliver seamless end-to-end customer and employee experiences. The ideal candidate combines deep AI expertise with exceptional communication skills — capable of translating complex AI concepts into clear business value for executives, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders alike. Responsibilities: • Agentic AI Strategy & Execution • Define and execute enterprise-wide Agentic AI strategy and roadmap. • Design and oversee autonomous, goal-oriented AI agents capable of planning, reasoning, and tool orchestration. • Establish governance frameworks for safety, compliance, transparency, and ethical AI use. • Clearly communicate AI capabilities, limitations, and risks to executive leadership. • Virtual Agent Development & Optimization • Architect and deploy conversational AI solutions (chatbots, voice bots, digital assistants). • Lead conversational design, NLU optimization, prompt strategy, and LLM orchestration. • Translate technical performance metrics into business-impact narratives. • Present roadmap updates, insights, and results to senior stakeholders with clarity and confidence. • Journey Management & Orchestration • Map, analyze, and optimize end-to-end customer and employee journeys. • Implement dynamic journey orchestration that intelligently routes between AI agents and human teams. • Define measurable KPIs and communicate progress through compelling dashboards and executive reporting. • Facilitate cross-functional workshops to align business, product, and technical teams. • Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement • Serve as the primary AI thought leader across the organization. • Build trust with executives, operations leaders, compliance teams, and engineering. • Lead cross-functional teams with clarity, influence, and strong interpersonal skills. • Simplify complex AI architecture into actionable strategies and decision frameworks. • Represent the organization in client meetings, industry events, and executive forums when required. Basic Hiring Criteria: • Minimum 8 years in AI, automation, CX technology, or digital transformation. • Minimum 3 years leading AI/ML, conversational AI, or intelligent automation initiatives. • Demonstrated experience presenting to executive-level stakeholders. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to translate technical AI concepts into business language. • Experience influencing senior leaders and driving organizational change. Desired Qualifications: • Experience deploying multi-agent or autonomous AI systems. • Familiarity with journey orchestration platforms. • Experience creating executive-level AI strategy decks and board presentations. • Strong facilitation and workshop leadership skills. • Core Competencies • Executive presence and storytelling ability. • Clear, persuasive communicator across technical and non-technical audiences. • Strategic thinker with strong operational execution. • Systems thinking and customer-centric mindset. • Data-driven and outcome-oriented. • High emotional intelligence and collaborative leadership style.
