Turner Fleischer is one of Canada’s most progressive design studios, seeking a Designer with strong visual communication skills to support project teams in creating compelling and functional designs. The role involves contributing to schematic design, design development, and documentation while ensuring designs meet project requirements and comply with building codes.
Responsibilities
- Create design concepts and/or development of detailed plans in collaboration with the design team to meet project requirements and design intent
- Gather and assess documentation provided by external stakeholders and integrate relevant information into design deliverables as directed
- Acquire all necessary materials and conduct research as directed by Project Manager to support the project's progression and ensure well-informed design decisions
- Develop current knowledge of updates and changes to building codes, by-laws, and regulations, ensuring that design decisions align with the latest standards and requirements
- Revise and improve designs based on mark ups and feedback, with a focus on contributing to the project's success through continuous improvement and attention to detail
Skills
- Degree/Diploma from an accredited institution in Architecture
- Recent graduate or around 1 year of experiences within an Architecture firm
- Experiences in Revit, SketchUp, Rhino or Twinmotion
- Experiences in Adobe Creative Suite
- Working knowledge of applicable building codes and municipal by-laws with experience in the municipal approval process
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and effective problem-solving skills
- Willingness to work in a hybrid role, with 2 days in the Studio
