Description
- Prepare comprehensive, fully coordinated shop drawings and fabrication documents using Autodesk AutoCAD, including plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules.
- Develop glazing and aluminum framing details consistent with architectural intent, structural requirements, and system performance criteria.
- Produce fabrication packages for curtainwall, storefront, glass handrails, ACM panels, metal panels, and related glazing systems.
- Revise and resubmit shop drawings in response to architect and engineer reviews, RFIs, and field-verified dimensions.
- Support pre-engineering and design-assist efforts by reviewing Contract Documents and proposals, providing input on system selection, constructability, tolerances, sequencing, and cost impacts.
- Prepare material takeoffs and quantity calculations for glass, aluminum extrusions, anchors, fasteners, gaskets, and accessories.
- Review shop drawings prepared by others for compliance with Contract Documents, approved submittals, and company drafting standards.
- Identify conflicts, omissions, and coordination issues between architectural, structural, and company scope of work, and assist in their resolution.
- Provide technical support to fabrication, installation, and project management teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in coordination meetings, internal reviews, and meetings with architects, consultants, and clients as required.
- Maintain clear and timely communication to support submittal schedules, fabrication timelines, and construction sequencing.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience using Autodesk AutoCAD for architectural and glazing-related drafting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience preparing shop drawings for small to mid-sized commercial glazing projects.
- Strong knowledge of glazing systems, including curtainwall, storefront, ACM and metal panels, glass handrails, waterproofing, and structural interfaces.
- Experience detailing aluminum-framed curtainwall and storefront systems.
- Ability to read, interpret, and coordinate architectural and structural Contract Documents.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and Google Workspace.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior glazing industry experience (3+ years) preferred.
