About the Role:
Pearson Virtual Schools is hiring seasonal, temporary team members to support Connections Academy, a leading online public-school program serving students and families nationwide. We are hiring customer-facing associates to support our Student Services team. You will join our team for our peak hiring season, handling inbound phone calls, email, live chat, and SMS to provide outstanding service to the families and students we enroll.
This role is ideal for individuals who are skilled at providing strong support, problem-solving, enjoy helping customers navigate important decisions, and thrive in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Seasonal representatives must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and are savvy in working with a variety of systems and technology. You must be exceptionally patient, empathetic, and willing to offer the best experience possible for the families we support. This role is responsible for helping to ensure that we retain and provide a strong experience to Connections Academy families, so you must be reliable, responsive, and results-oriented.
Our operation is open 5 days per week. Schedules are 9am-6pm Eastern Time.
You will:
• Support and engage enrolled families and students with questions related to onboarding, schedules, systems, and next steps
• Answer inbound questions via phone, and potentially via email, chat, and SMS with warmth, clarity, and confidence
• Provide empathetic, solutions-oriented assistance during high-volume periods
• Maintain student accounts and records, documenting, and logging information into the online system accurately
• Partner with internal teams to ensure families receive accurate, timely support
• Help reinforce trust, confidence, and satisfaction with Connections Academy
• Protects the privacy of student account information through compliance with federal student privacy law (Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA))
You are:
• Flexible, adaptive, and able to positively and efficiently support students and caretakers
• Able to take direction quickly and learn new procedures, processes, and products
• Able to use a variety of customer service and sales tools, software, and systems to effectively manage customer interactions
• Skilled at multi-tasking in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Reliable, professional, and empathetic
• Comfortable working remotely and independently in a structured environment
• Believe in a culture of continuous improvement supporting enrollment goals
• Able to adhere to company attendance policy and work between 9am-6pm Eastern Time
You have :
• A bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 1+ year of customer service, high volume call center, or support experience required
• Excellent verbal communication, written, and listening skills with emotional intelligence
• Ability to explain complex information clearly and patiently
• Experience navigating websites, browsers, and systems, often using multiple tabs, screens, and systems concurrently, with strong typing skills
• Comfort using Windows computer/operating system
• Calm, empathetic approach when supporting families under stress
• Familiarity with education and the public-school system a strong plus
• Remote experience preferred

Compensation:
The pay for this temporary role is $20 per hour, with potential for over-time.
