Job Description
To originate complex business loans and lines of credit offered by Business Solutions. Develop new business with current members, prospects, and Centers of Influence. Focus on retaining and deepening existing relationships in while being accountable for developing new business both in their current market and nationally. Serve as relationship ambassador between business members and Business Solutions. Work is performed under limited supervision.
Responsibilities
Develop new business with prospects and members that have the largest and most complex credit needs by actively participating in community activities, networking, and in-person meetings
Subject matter expert identifying and interpreting trends in the market to structure lending results
Maintain understanding of business member needs and competitor offerings to contribute to the overall strategy of Business Solutions
Manage the most complex business member relationships
Prepare and complete credit memo presentations for credit recommendations to the appropriate levels of management for approval
Monitor the business loan process to ensure compliance with applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations, and Navy Federal policies and procedures
Collect and analyze supporting financial documentation and effectively perform financial/credit analysis on new lending opportunities, modifications, and renewals
Manage the business loan closing process and loan proceed disbursement
Conduct onsite visual inspections of businesses to ensure adherence to collateral and/or covenants member borrower
Perform ongoing quality control to ensure efficiency and accuracy of processes and procedures
Detect errors and initiate or arrange for corrective action; ensure resolution
Conduct quality control reviews of documents to ensure adherence to applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations and Navy Federal policies and procedures; communicate and/or correct errors/omissions
Involved in driving continuous process improvement to increase member experience quality; increase revenue, minimize financial risk and maintain high operational efficiency
Remain alert to threats to loan security, fraudulent applications, and other questionable practices that may negatively impact the quality of the loan portfolio or create inappropriate financial risk

Qualifications
Significant experience working in a business lending role, preferably for a large financial services organization
Significant experience in small business and commercial lending
Advanced knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, rules and regulations
Significant experience in working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, merchants, vendors
Significant experience in managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
Advanced relationship cultivation, sales and consulting skills
Advanced skill comprehending, analyzing and explaining multiple, complex loan programs, financing options and basic mathematical principles
Advanced skill applying lending principles, financial practices and evaluation of creditworthiness to make credit decisions
Advanced skill managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
Advanced skill developing, documenting and presenting credit analyses involving business lending opportunities including commercial real estate, commercial and industrial and SBA type deals
Advanced skill working independently and in a team environment
Advanced organizational, planning and time management skills
Advanced skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
Advanced skill interacting with staff, management, vendors and members diplomatically and tactfully
Advanced skill comprehending, analyzing, interpreting, communicating and applying government and financial industry regulations
Advanced skill building relationships through rapport, trust, diplomacy and tact
Advanced research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Advanced skill maintaining accuracy with attention to detail and meeting deadlines
Advanced skill compiling, organizing and presenting information clearly and concisely
Advanced verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills
Advanced word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software skills (e.g., Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Desired Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of Business Solutions products, services, programs, policies and procedures
Advanced knowledge of Navy Federal's functions, philosophy, operations and organizational objectives
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:30PM
