The Business Research Role is to help support the evolution of Barkera. We are seeking passionate individual(s) to conduct extensive research on the Pet Industry to provide strategy recommendations to management. The Business Research Role will receive confidential industry knowledge to help support this important role.
As a member of the Barkera team, you will be assisting the Barkera team with researching ecosystem evaluation and expansion, and startup data analysis. In this role, the candidate will be mentored on startup accelerator program strategy and execution, relationship development, and identifying and working with the team and industry experts within the pet care industry.
As a team member, you may be required to attend weekly team meetings and 1:1 meetings with various executives
Opportunities To Learn:
- Willingness to conduct research on the pet care industry and startup ecosystem. Including but not limited to the identification of new markets and industry sectors, and in-depth business analysis to identify new competitive opportunities
- Ability to learn and create reports/presentations in both Excel / PowerPoint, and perform various analytic tasks to support various strategies
- Perform market scouting activities, identifying new areas of innovation and development, as well as potential partners to enable the continued growth of Barkera
- Support management with additional tasks and projects as needed depending on the priorities as well as the skills and interests of the selected candidate
- College interest in general business, international business, finance, accounting, interdisciplinary studies, entrepreneurship, or innovation along with Science Research in the Pet and Veterinary fields
Requirements
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong desire to learn along with a professional drive
- Understanding of different marketing techniques
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications (e.g. CRM tools, Online analytics and Google Adwords, Email)
- Interest in learning various marketing platforms to produce content
- Passion for the marketing industry and its best practices
- Must be currently enrolled in a college or university
- Leadership & Management Majors is a plus
- Academic work is a priority
- Portfolio of published articles, newscasts etc is a plus
- Ability to manage hours and provide weekly status reports
- Required to track time and present anticipated hours available weekly
- Working environment: Home office, On Campus, and must have access to a computer with internet

This is a remote role with meetings that may occur in the Broward Center of Innovation or Online Meetings
