BRAND NEW OPPORTUNITY Construction Attorney | Premium California Practice | Major Project Work | Up to $400k | LA / OC | Hybrid / Remote
I’ll keep this brief — I’m working directly with a well-established California firm that is continuing to invest heavily in its construction practice, and they’re looking to bring in someone who wants to do proper project-related work, not just churn files.
This is one of those roles where you actually get exposure to the interesting side of construction law — the kind of matters that involve real strategy, real money, and real client impact.
What makes this different:
• Big-ticket project exposure: You’ll be working across large infrastructure, commercial, energy and public-sector developments — not small, repetitive matters
• Front-end + disputes: The team operates across the full spectrum — contracts, advisory, and disputes — so you’re not boxed into one lane
• Experienced, tight-knit team: This is a group that has built their practice together over time — collaborative, supportive, and genuinely enjoyable to work with
• Public + private mix: Strong pipeline of public works alongside private development — great for building a well-rounded practice
• Grown-up environment: High-quality work without the overly rigid structure you often see in larger firms
• Real progression: You’re not just filling a seat — there’s a genuine opportunity to build your career here
️ What you’ll be doing:
• Supporting clients from project inception through to completion and beyond
• Drafting and negotiating construction contracts and project documentation
• Advising on live project issues including delays, disruption, variations, and payment disputes
• Working on arbitrations, mediations, and litigation tied to complex construction matters
• Providing ongoing advice on risk, compliance, and project strategy
• Working closely with a range of stakeholders including developers, contractors, consultants, and lenders
⚖️ What they’re looking for:
• Solid background in construction law — whether that’s disputes, contracts, or a mix
• Comfortable dealing with complex project issues and commercial risk
• Exposure to public sector work, procurement, or regulatory elements is a big plus
• Strong technical drafting and communication skills
• Someone who can operate independently but still enjoys being part of a team
• Commercially aware and motivated to grow their practice long-term
Location:
Los Angeles or Orange County
Hybrid / remote flexibility available
Compensation:
• Base salary up to $400,000 depending on experience
• Bonus structure on top
• 1,850 billable target
• Strong billing rates with room to build
Why it’s worth a conversation:
A lot of construction roles lean too heavily one way — either pure disputes or purely transactional.
This one gives you:
• Variety
• Quality work
• A stable, respected platform
• And the chance to actually build something long-term
