The role involves contributing to environmental assessment and management projects, including biological surveys and habitat assessments, while collaborating with various stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Planning, coordinating, and conducting biological surveys to ensure regulatory compliance following established protocols and methodologies
- Gaining exposure to wider biology programs and developing in specific areas of specialization
- Conducting field-based environmental monitoring and habitat assessment
- Preparing monitoring and mitigation plans
- Conducting desktop research
- Preparing permit applications
- Contributing to technical reports to support decision making
- Maintaining strong working relationships with colleagues, regulatory agencies, construction contractors, and wider rightsholders and stakeholders
Skills
- Upcoming graduates of 2026
- Relevant Bachelor's degree in an Environmental Biology pathway, with field experience in planning, conducting and/or managing biological studies (e.g. wildlife, vegetation, wetlands, fish and fish habitat studies)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
- Valid driver's license
